SMALL TEAM ENJOYING GREAT SUCCESS

The Toluca Plant in Mexico has come up with a creative way of expanding its business activities. Since2008, a small team of associates has had great success manufacturing replacement parts for fuel pumps. The project is running in coordination with the Automotive Aftermarket division.

The replacement parts are intended for various Ford and Mazda models ranging from 1990 to 2000. At one time, Bosch supplied the Fuel Pumps for these vehicles, but workshops are finding it increasingly difficult to locate corresponding replacement parts in the domestic market. This is why the team of associates is recreating these components based on the originals. The parts are custom made and manufactured almost entirely by hand , thus keeping low cost. The team is currently deliberating how best to expand its business.

At its Toluca location, Bosch produces components including motors for electric windows lifters and windshield wipers, as well as starters and generators.

A NEW ADVENTURE THAT STARTED LAST NOVEMBER 2008

Beginning November 1st, 2008 , the Robert Bosch Toluca Engineering team for fuel pump modules and the Sample shop as well, are managed by Martin Kling with the goal to encourage the development of new Applications, Components and Production support, besides from Prototype modules built and their validation testing.

This new adventure started with a Thank You dinner for Arturo Maya who had led this same team before with excellent results. Arturo received from Martin Kling and Juan Boada a very nice present which was a unique Fuel Pump Module together with a steel plate with the signatures and best wishes from all the team. We all thank Arturo for his support and leadership.

The first action Martin took in order to let his team and the EKP value chain know what the group's Mision and Vision were, was to organize a workshop in plant with all department's associates together. It began with a presentation from Manufacturing, Purchasing and Quality departments with an overview of their functions in the organizational structure, metrics and indicators, but mainly, their expectations regarding the service and support that they receive from the Engineering group as well as what they thought the group has done well in the past and what could be improved in the future. Once this was presented, Martin announced the new organizational structure he had for his team which led to presentations from Juan Ramirez, Nora Collado, Adelaida Sotelo, Oscar Moreno and Gabriel Cruz about their new groups.

This workshop has now become a tradition every year before going out for the Christmas party, which we will talk about in a later post, meanwhile we Thank You all for reading this blog and don't forget to visit us at facebook with the latest news about our team and how we enjoy to be part of the Robert Bosch Toluca Engineering Group. Until next time!!
